Here at Lambda Audio Visual we love to highlight new and exciting trends in technology! One of the things that really gets us excited is when manufactures offer technologies that add flexibility, and capability to pieces of technology our customers use all the time. Over the last several years Presonus has been integrating AVB or Audio Video Bridging into much of its equipment. AVB is an exciting set of standards currently revolving around the transmission of digital audio over IP networks and eventually growing to include video. AVB allows a high number of audio channels to be transmitted or shared over a standard ip network. Presonus has embraced this new standard by creating Audio mixing consoles that can use the standard and now a whole ecosystem of pieces to create a fully functioning environment for your worship team.
Presonus offers not only the series 3 mixers but a rack mixer that can be used as both a stage box sharing audio over AVB with the main console and a separate monitor or stream mix using an iPad or touch screen. Options are available like stand alone AVB stage boxes functioning over AVB via a single cat-6 connection and allowing the removal of complicated analog tie ins from the stage to the digital snake boxes. The newest piece to the puzzle is called the Earmix-16 and allows for personal monitoring on stage. The Earmix-16 can be powered over POE (Power over ethernet) and allows for each single mixer to have a unique set of 16 channels available to it so as to customize what each musician can hear.
If you would like a demo of this system let us know we are very excited to show it off!
