When Summit Church started a full overhaul site upgrade with Lambda AV they knew streaming would be an important piece, but never realized how essential it would become these last few months.
At the beginning of the year, Summit Church did a complete tech overhaul and redesign with Lambda. We will have upcoming articles highlighting more of it, but for now we wanted to bring forward the streaming part right away. Several years ago, Summit Church brought in Lambda to add a professional touch and direction and bring tech up to a starting point for future growth. Summit church wanted to feed quality, great content to a growing online audience and be ready for satellite campuses in the future. They wanted to be flexible and able to stream or share anything that was going on in the church.

Just as the virus Lockdown was beginning, Village Seven Presbyterian Church came to Lambda looking for a solution to livestream their services. At the time the church had not done any live-streaming, but knew they needed to come up with an answer to keep their congregation connected during the unknown duration of the lockdown.
There are a lot of great camera options out there! We’ve talked before about Marshal cameras, but here’s another favorite! You know we love Black Magic equipment and this camera is no exception. We have designed this camera into several systems now, ranging from a traveling film setup to a small church streaming system. There's no doubt that the quality it offers is attractive and makes it such a popular camera.
Two years, and still adaptableThis week we wanted to highlight a job we did a few years ago. It may be unusual to highlight an old job, but rather than share “old news” we wanted to talk about how building for the future can help avoid unforeseen circumstances. Such as a pandemic. To begin our study of this past install, we must start in present day.
Input and Outputs list. What is an I/O list? Basically, it’s a list that shows where everything is PHYICALLY pulled into your system. Now, this is an important distinction. Where the physical cable is pulled in is very often different from the “Channel #” on the sound board. (Example: your kick drum could be in the #1 position on your sound board but is plugged into input 32) It’s important to note this difference and not confuse the two. It will help prevent cables being moved to the wrong spots! It’s not any surprise that everyone is looking for more streaming options right now. Our team at Lambda wants to help you get the best stream you can during these changing times. A small change can make a big difference in quality and connections, just as it did for the District 20 Board of Education. As School district 20 began their remote learning programs, they also needed to find a remote option for their board meetings too. They were meeting through Microsoft Teams, but were looking for a way to make the system more dynamic and add ability to mix in content and additional sources. The screen share option isn’t always the easiest, especially when switching from one item of content to another.
A Streaming TipAs our communities are looking forward to meeting in person again, Lambda is committed to giving you all the streaming tips to make your stream the best it can be! So, here is one more audio tip!
Remember, less is more! What kind of audio tip is this? We wanted to take a minute to remind you of another Audio Streaming tip to help make your stream better! When you have less “space” for sound (aka headphones or a TV speaker) you must mix accordingly. This means you might bring your overall instrumentation down and vocals up just a hair so that the intelligibly of the vocals still comes though clean on the stream. The River Church in Durango Colorado reached out to Lambda looking to upgrade their older and beginning to fail projectors. They had installed them almost 10 years ago, so it was time to help them with a fresh start on their projection!
