With more holidays just around the corner and the continued uncertainties of what will happen next with Covid, the team at Lambda wants to make sure you we can give you the best tools and tips for making this season special! This year certainly wasn’t what we all expected and will look different as we plan ahead. Be sure to read last week’s article with a few ways you can make your system better this season without ordering a whole new system!
As we continue to look at ways to improve video stream, audio, and lighting for the holidays, we thought it would be a good week to check out these five tips to prepare your system for holiday productions!

1.      Lighting is very important for your stream! Read HERE! Take the time to check that the lighting console is running correctly with new software. Upload your master show file and double check it. Remember, never update software the day before a show. Always give yourself a few days to make sure it is working properly and without any bugs.
2.      Check to make sure all your cables are working and in the right spot. Sometimes a new cable can help your system. Make sure there are no old, frayed cables and that any cables along the floor are safely taped down.
3.      Schedule training time for your staff and volunteers. This is a great time to make sure your team can learn new things and use all the features of your system. Lambda offers a variety of advanced training where your team can ask any questions they might have.
4.      Back up projects on memory cards and format recording cards. Chances are you’ll be recording a lot of new content in the next few weeks. It’s worth the time to make sure you won’t lose any content you want to save! Take a few minutes to make sure you have old projects backed up and plenty of room for your new ones.

5.      Tune your room! This could be a great way to make sure your sound is spot on! You may also want to rescan frequencies for microphone and wireless in-ear receivers (If you don’t know how to do this check your owner’s manual. They are a great resource to make sure you know how to operate your gear. You might even find that your equipment can do things you never knew it could!) You never know what things changed or if you have a neighbor who might be throwing your frequencies off!
Sometimes making small changes or performing maintenance can make a big difference for your system! As always, if you are looking for solutions email support@lambdaav.io!
