A Christmas letter From Duh Sheep

It’s me, the lamb, Duh!

Yes, my name is Duh. Kirby the Trailer wrote last year, but this year I took over. After all, it’s my face that’s on the company logo. If I can represent the company with my great bod, seems like they’d trust me to write the year end update. It’s time to remind them who they actually work for: Duh A.V. Lamb!

Award for most creative subscriber feedback goes to the creator who sent our newsletter pic back like this!
It’s been a busy and exciting year for Lambda! We didn’t quite make our main goal: to wool the world, but we did make our social media growth goal. So, pat yourself on the back if you’re reading this and joined the Lambda Family this year!
We started off the year by doing quite a bit of traveling. (No, Ryan hasn’t bought the Lamborghini yet…I’d look good on that!) First was an install at Indian Creek Community Church in Kansas City, redesigning their main stage. We overhauled their look by adding back lighting and new screens and projectors. Though road trips can be a bit boring (I’ve never been, but I see the travel updates come in over Slack from my overlord position in the office) we love to bring Lambda’s services to out of state clients too.
With more jobs added to the calendar, we knew we would need more hands. Spring this year we added Matt to our install crew and social team and Jed to our design team. Matt jumped into the Lambda family and fits in nicely with the weirdness. Jed is a senior in engineer school which made him a perfect candidate first as an intern and then to hire to CAD all the designs. Ah college, it takes me back to my fraternity days at Lambda Lambda Lambda.

After Kansas City we were quickly off to another fun job. The folks at Montrose Community Theater had asked us to help them upgrade their sound system. Lambda was able to transform the sound design making sure every patron of the theater can hear by adding new speakers, amps and microphones! I thought I’d should go and try my hand at being a theater star, but Ryan said the real stars are the ones behind the scenes.
We packed up again and headed across the country for Florida! Gather Church in Florida built a brand-new building last year which Lambda was able to completely outfit. So, this year we were able to come back and add new LED lights to the wall on their stage. It’ my favorite looking project we’ve been able to work on this year! The lights are bright and clear and add a trendy pop of color to the stage.

When we got back from Florida things didn’t slow down. We partnered with PixelproLED to install three incredible LED walls in New Life Church, Colorado Springs. The LED walls make a big difference in their buildings. They are bright and allow for more design and viewing options! We are excited to work with the great team at New Life and will continue to partner with Pixelpro for great LED walls! It’s the future!
A Wedding in the Family
We had an exciting event this year. Our shop manager, Trevor, proposed to his girlfriend! The wedding was beautiful, so I’m told. Apparently, despite overseeing “Defining The Relationsheep” meetings here at work, lambs aren’t invited to weddings. We are glad to have Leah around! Maybe she can help Trevor remember it’s measure twice, cut once…

Video Podcasting

A fun new project was to set up a system for a local Podcast called Ransomed Heart. RH wanted to start creating video podcasts as part of their regular routine. Lambda installed a new rack along with four cameras and controls to cover every angle. We also installed cameras for Every Home for Christ and Lander.
Clayhouse Church who asked us not only to update their lighting, screens and projection, but to help them create a new modern atmosphere and redesign their look. The finished stage was a stunning contrast to what they had before.

New Lambda Shop
With more staff around and more products coming in every day, we were running out of space! This led to the decision to expand the Lambda shop. We will have more room than ever to test equipment and prepare for your installs. We will also have a new meeting space above the Lambda shop to meet with vendors and clients. There will always be coffee, a nice couch and a special place for Jewell to put her lamb-inator. I’ll have a cushy new office to preside over the company and maybe we’ll finally get everyone to morning meeting on time.

Then we were back on the road again. Living Waters Church in Alamosa, Colorado needed a new sound system design. We were able to create a new design so sound could be carried to every corner of their unique shaped building. Now everyone can hear no matter where they sit and with a new sound board, they are set up to grow with AV in the future.

The end of the year hasn’t slowed down a bit! We are excited to be preparing to outfit a new building in Denver next year. We are also excited to expand our AV maintenance services by adding Ahab the van. He’s ok I guess; he’s a bit vain about his fancy wheels. If all else fails, we plan to have Jed and Trevor take Ahab to sell tacos down by the river. It’ll be a Fleece Navidad with tacos for everyone!
So far, so good though. Ahab has already made several trips to District 20 schools for jobs. Speaking of D20, we are now the proud, certified AV providers to the whole school district! We are excited to work with and help improve our schools. What could be better than a cute little lamb helping out the kids?

Lambda has done a lot, grown and expanded, but we wouldn’t be where we are right now without faithful clients like you. We are grateful for all we have been able to do this year and we look forward to continuing to serve you in 2020. May God bless you!
