A while back we talked about the “Lambda process” for turning your dreams of new audio, video, or lighting system into a reality. A big part of that process is all about the gear testing that happens in our shop before the equipment ever gets to your location. After the gear has been ordered and arrives, we set up all the equipment and each component in our shop just as it will be for the install. This ensures that when we arrive for the install, there aren’t any surprises and there won’t be “that one missing part.” Along with that, we have an assurance that each piece of the gear we install will work for you leaving no questions of whether your new parts are faulty. This detailed process not only assures that each piece is built properly, but that they all work together flawlessly.

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Constellation 8k has been fun to add to several projects this last year. Just the name sounds fancy and you’d be right. This item is still fairly new on the market and just one of the reasons we are so excited to use it.
This Constellation is an ultra HD live production switcher! It has all the features meaning you can combine them all to make an incredibly powerful 8K switcher. With so many input and output options, not to mention the DVEs and viewers, the constellation also offers even standards conversion on all inputs. It even has an audio mixer with EQ and dynamics. If you are looking to produce high quality streaming production on a professional level, this switcher is for you! You won’t be disappointed with its features. If you are looking into streaming options for your house of worship or business, contact us anytime. There are switchers for every size of business and AV need. It seems like this year has been the year of the video system upgrades. Each system has its own unique pieces that have helped each church or business to move forward in what they are able to do, not only for streaming and recording, but inside the room as well.
It seems these days that everyone is looking for a way to just get online. When Springs First Church of The Nazarene (SFCN) contacted us it was just after another reduction of room capacity due to COVID-19. The Nazarene church needed to get online to reach their congregation and fast.

One of the projects we have not had the chance to showcase this year is a church campus launch that we helped with at the beginning of 2020. One of the great opportunities we have as a business is to see the organizations we work with grow and expand. New Life church in Colorado Springs, wanted to launch a new campus on the east side of the Springs. Our role in the launch was designing the video system.
With more holidays just around the corner and the continued uncertainties of what will happen next with Covid, the team at Lambda wants to make sure you we can give you the best tools and tips for making this season special! This year certainly wasn’t what we all expected and will look different as we plan ahead. Be sure to read last week’s article with a few ways you can make your system better this season without ordering a whole new system!
As we continue to look at ways to improve video stream, audio, and lighting for the holidays, we thought it would be a good week to check out these five tips to prepare your system for holiday productions! The Black Magic Pocket 4k and 6k camera are some of our favorite pieces of gear that we use and install. This is evident by how often you see us talk and post about them. They are extremely versatile, and their price point makes them very accessible to a broad range of budgets.
And getting the most from your equipmentIt’s Christmas planning season and many of our friends and customers have found themselves in a different place with their technology than they had ever dreamed they would be. Where many people had planned on making small upgrades this year, they instead found themselves making entire changes to how they go about working with or reaching people. Some of our customers are still waiting, months later, for their system upgrades to come in stock. If anyone waited just a few weeks after the first COVID-19 challenges to make large video system improvements, there was already a massive delay in the industry. Normally, this time of year we encourage everyone to finalize their Christmas upgrade plans and ideas so we can get items ordered, but most have either already ordered or video equipment is so backordered into next year there may not be an opportunity, even now, to get the project done. So, where do we start in this new world as we go into the Christmas season? Especially, for churches with production on the horizon? The crew at Lambda would like to suggest two areas to focus on: training and lighting.
Or several cases...A local church in town, Zeal, came to us asking to help them build a portable church system. They already had a few pieces of equipment but were looking for a few more tech pieces to have a service every week in a school building. At first glance, it may not sound too tricky or like an excessively big job. What do you need for a portable system, just some speakers and a mic and you are good to go, right?? The task was a little bigger than that.
We were very excited when we walked into a job and saw the Lambda Audio Guides printed off and sitting on the desk. If you haven't already checked out the great resources on our website, now's the time! These guides will change the way you train your volunteers and are a solid resource for reminding yourself of the essentials too! Check out lambdaav.io/resources for Audio AND Video guides!!!
