User Friendly Stream Upgrade

Centerpoint Community Church realized at the beginning of Covid they would need to take their services online to continue engaging and supporting their congregation. The good news for Centerpoint was that their existing system was capable and would only need a few small additions to begin their own streaming.
As they continued to adapt, learn and improve their online streaming experience, Centerpoint identified a few areas in their current AV system that would need to upgrade to create a better end result.

The pieces of their system they noticed needed to be improved were their PTZ cameras, presentation software, and a few other aging video components. They came to Lambda looking for not only updated components but pieces that would work easily together.
Their old PTZ camera system was replaced with three new BirdDog Eyes P200 PTZ cameras and a new Birddog camera control surface. This system gave them added control over their cameras, tighter shots with 30x optical zoom, and an intuitive control surface for their staff to work with. The other huge advantage the BirdDog cameras had over their older cameras, was the image sensor that is in the Birddog cameras. This little sensor is a Sony CMOS backlit sensor that is paired with a Sony image module to provide higher performance, better color accuracy, and picture quality, along with lightning-fast response.
For the presentation software, it will be no surprise to hear that we moved Centerpoint to one of our favorite programs, ProPresenter Seven. Their previous presentation software, while still mostly getting the job done, was starting to show its age and lack of capability and as they continued to add to their online services they knew it wouldn’t be able to keep up with their production. ProPresenter Seven, on the other hand, is a program that is extremely versatile and gave them the tools they needed to continue shaping their service. As they continue to engage their in-person and online audiences, they can feel confident that ProPresenter will continue to have the features they need.

The next piece we added for Centerpoint was a Blackmagic Design Decklink Duo to their computer to give them a true Key Fill out of ProPresenter. This enabled them to use graphics with an alpha channel (graphics with transparency) on their stream. They were no longer limited to just using white text and a luma key for their lower thirds. They can now have endless possibilities for lower thirds, tags, and custom graphics.
For Centerpoint, we set the stream deck up to have four preset camera position buttons for each of their cameras. This allows them to quickly reposition and cut between cameras with the push of a button. The functionality that a stream deck adds is truly amazing.
Centerpoint Community Church has already begun to take advantage of its upgrades by producing exciting new content. We can’t wait to see how they further use their new system to its fullest potential for both online and in-person services.
From Centerpoint:

The Tech Ministry Staff at Centerpoint Community Church in Arvada, Colorado would like to thank the team at Lambda Audio Visual Inc. for all their help, advice, training and assistance over the past few years. Ryan, Trevor, and Matt have helped us when we broke the light program, provided training and guidance with new sound tech training, and the replacement of the microphones due to the frequency changes, to name a few. The last project they completed for us was the installation of equipment for livestreaming of our services. The tech team appreciates the simplicity of the install, the interface, and the quality of the live broadcasts. We have received many compliments on the Sunday Morning live broadcasts, which was not the case when we recorded the services and posted the recordings. As a church, we look forward to continuing to use Lambda for our Tech Ministry needs.
