Why You Need an Audio Visual Integrator for You Next Project

What does it matter? I can do it myself...

There are some who feel like they do not need a professional integration company or an Audio Visual design engineer when they change the AV system in their business. Perhaps they have a background in operating tech or maybe they are quick learners and feel confident they can easily plug new equipment in and start using it for a new project. Where there is a possibility you could get away with this once, chances are things won’t go according to plan. We’d like to take a minute to tell you why you need to consider having a professional Audio Visual Integration company for your next system install.

One.

What does an Audio Visual Integrator or design Engineer do for you anyway? AV engineers have specific skills and usually specialize in a certain area. Perhaps you’ve heard the saying that it takes a village to put on a production, just so, it takes a village of experts to design, process and install an AV system. What’s the benefit? With each person involved they bring skills to the table to take you from the very beginning design steps through to completion. They have the knowledge to make sure the equipment you buy will not only work but has the functionality to do what you want. They can come alongside your team and understand what your ultimate goals are. Armed with the big picture, an AV engineer can then find the balance between function and budget.

In addition, they will make sure that the new items are compatible with existing equipment. Maybe you’ve found the perfect lighting control wall plates, but just aren’t sure they will work with your network. Or your camera is in perfect working condition, but you need a different memory card. Perhaps someone in your organization already spent the money on new projectors, but you have no idea how to mount them properly or at the correct distance. These are problems we’ve been able to solve or spot in advance of them becoming problems. This is where an Integrator can come alongside you to help! There’s nothing like getting a new piece of tech and finding out the rest of your components won’t work with it.

Two.

One of the biggest risks of not working with a professional integrator is the fact that you could overspend or get a piece that is fancy but doesn’t give you the functions you really need. Maybe you’ve put in a lot of research and know exactly which video camera you like, but what about the lens? If you aren’t sure the lens will have enough zoom or range, your camera will be useless to you. AV Integrators have lists of vendors they trust in the industry to provide quality parts.
Not only do our vendors make sure we get quality for the price, but they are the real experts on their products. Often, they ask about the system it will be installed in and become part of the design process for your business to make sure that you are truly getting the best part with the right functions or can suggest other options that might suite you even more! If we are involved from the beginning, we can make sure you don’t just purchase a projection screen, but that you get one that is the correct size for your projector and room.

Three.

Are you still convinced you should do it yourself? Just like working on your car yourself instead of taking it to the mechanic, you know that any problems you might have after are on you too. You might get a new piece and plug it in. It might work fine for hours, days or weeks. The risk is if it goes bad or breaks. You are on your own. If you work with an AV Integrator at the start, you’ll have a starting place to ask questions for trouble shooting. Did you know that Lambda offers warranties on our installs? Your system could be under warranty for repair or a
replacement at no cost to you! The more complex the system and the frequency of use should be a self-indicator that you need to use an AV Integrator and not risk thousands of dollars of equipment. As you know, Lambda loves to train you on your equipment after an install! We want to make sure you get to use your equipment to the fullest and know how to take care of it to prevent breaking. You could say that as an Integrator, Lambda goes above and beyond to make sure you are prepared, equipped and covered in every area!

So, you’re convinced. What now? It’s easier than you might think! Reach out to Lambda for a Site Spec appointment so we can learn what you are looking to do. After that, all the work is on us. Also, did you know that Lambda creates a full set of design diagrams to go with every install we do? This means we have the ‘road map’ to where everything you have should be plugged in. Not only does this make the install process flow seamlessly, but any future additions or changes can easily be implemented without creating a new design for your system. desire is to put your needs, experience, budget and users first!
